Filing a Report
Harassment and Discrimination Reporting
All members of the Stanford community can play a role in preventing harassment and discrimination, and the university is committed to taking action to prevent and remedy these acts. To do this, the university needs to be made aware of them if they occur. This website is a primary means for the university to learn of these actions.
You should report an incident on this website if:
- You have experienced an incident of harassment or discrimination.
- You witness an incident of harassment or discrimination.
- You are aware of someone who has experienced an incident of harassment or discrimination.
You can file a report by clicking on the button below and completing the simple form. Completing the form will enable the Title VI Officer to initiate the process of addressing the concerns raised in the report.
What is the Harassment/Discrimination – Title VI Process (and What it is Not)
Completing the Harassment/Discrimination – Title VI report will initiate the process that allows the Title VI Officer to:
- Provide supportive measures to the person who experienced the potential harassment or discrimination being reported. You will receive an email providing the relevant information.
- Determine if the action, individually or in conjunction with other actions, creates a hostile environment under Title VI. You will receive an email informing you of this determination.
- Determine if the reported action is legally protected (e.g., speech protected by federal and/or state law), which may affect the ways in which the university can respond. You will receive an email informing you of any such determination.
- Determine if there should be a referral to other university departments (relevant School Dean’s Office, Title IX, Threat Assessment Team, Office of Community Standards, etc.). You will receive an email informing you of any such determination.
- Determine what action, if any, the university should take in an attempt to prevent future occurrences of such actions and/or to remedy the effect of the action. You will receive an email informing you of any such determination.
Completing the form does NOT initiate an investigatory or disciplinary process.
